The  program provides a fun and safe learning environment for all to enjoy.

Classes are organized around the learning needs of youth with games and activities designed to teach the Aiki Way. 

There is an advancement structure and Aiki Kids are acknowledged for their progress both in technical proficiency and character development. These recognitions are demonstrated by colored belts and stripes.

The principles and practices to peacefully deal with conflict are the basics of Aikido.

Parents
We highly encourage parents of each student to step on the mat and train with their kids. It is fun!
Parents or members who enjoy working with youth are welcome to join in Aiki Kids classes. We value close communication with parents to help AikiKids cultivate Peace both on and off the mat.

Bill Walker, LCPC, Lead Instructor

As a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and leader in youth development, Bill has been utilizing the principles and practices on Aikido working with youth for over 15 years. He has enjoyed working with youth and families as a therapist within the public schools as well as in his private practice. As a father he directly understands the need for fun and positive growth environments. He brings joy and insight to the Aiki Kids program. The youth of the Aiki Kids program benefit tremendously from Bill's guidance.

 

 

 

Cathy Kraft, Youth Activities Director

Cathy has been practicing Aikido for several years and is deeply involved in the theatre arts community, Gardening and travel are among her other interests and activities. She has been increasingly involved in the youth program; putting her experience as a Waldorf teacher and pediatric physical therapist to use in her retirement.
